DLSS 5 has leaked ahead of its launch

When it was first announced last March, DLSS 5 got some pretty heavy criticism. The use of AI distorted the characters’ faces in several games in an effort to make them appear nearly photorealistic. This observation remains relevant following a major leak that occurred this week.

This August 26 was the release in advanced for NBA 2K27, and it came with a DLL named "nvngx_dlssnr.dll" that provides access to the DLSS Neural Rendering feature. Developer Renan Maniero, who made this discovery, clarified that this is a preliminary version of software that enables DLSS 5.

As a result, other modders have rushed to retrieve the file and inject it into various games. Control and Cyberpunk 2077 are among the lucky ones. Be warned, however, as enabling DLSS 5 causes a significant drop in frame rate for these titles. After all, this is a preliminary version that was not intended for the general public.
