According to a study, 87% of games released before 2010 are in danger of extinction

Retro may be all the rage, but the videogame medium remains largely unprotected around the world. In the U.S., the Video Game History Foundation has carried out quite an interesting survey that proves that games are still seen as a highly ephemeral commodity.
The study shows that only 13% of games released in the USA before 2010 can still be easily purchased today, which indicates that the remaining 87% are "critically endangered" and will soon be unavailable for sale.
To arrive at this figure, this famous study was based on a sample of 4,000 games examined. Alas, the phenomenon is set to worsen over the years.
