Problems with the Xbox port of Baldur's Gate 3 beause of the Series S
, by Thibaut
The third entry in the RPG franchise will launch on PC on August 3 and on PS5 on September 6. At present, no Xbox Series version of Baldur's Gate 3 is planned. And Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke explains why.
He points the finger at the fact that Microsoft requires the same functionalities for a game on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with the latter being the one that's causing concern, since the split-screen co-op mode doesn't run at an acceptable level on the machine. The developers of Baldur's Gate 3 are considering removing this element but, in order to respect the policy imposed by the American manufacturer, local co-op should also be removed from the Series X version.
Larian will try to optimize its game as much as possible and will tell us all about it at a later date.
