Sony inadvertently reveals astronomical figures about Call of Duty, The Last of Us and Horizon

The trial between Microsoft and the FTC (for the eternal takeover of Activision Blizzard) continues to surprise us! While taking part in the hearing this week, Japanese firm Sony accidentally revealed some sensitive figures, and the fault lies with the poor concealment of information on several documents.

For example, we learn that development of the exclusive Horizon Forbidden West ran from 2017 to 2022, with production costing up to $212 million (not including the marketing budget). 300 employees worked on the project.

The same goes for The Last of Us Part II, which cost PlayStation $220 million, approximately 200 people worked on the project during the five years it took to complete.

Finally, Call of Duty was not spared by these leaks. The information to remember is that the license generated $800 million in sales on PlayStation in 2021, in the United States alone. Worldwide, the figure is $1.5 billion. Finally, taking into account players' annual spending on additional content, this figure rises to $15.9 billion (or $13.9 billion).
