CD Projekt RED believes that criticism of Cyberpunk 2077's release was exaggerated

Despite extremely positive reviews from the specialist press, Cyberpunk 2077 was, to say the least, bitterly received by gamers at the time of its launch. Blame it on numerous bugs and the poor quality of the console versions.

However, Michał Platkow-Gilewski, the head of the Polish studio, doesn't share the same opinion and believes that the game didn't deserve such treatment.

"I actually believe Cyberpunk on launch was way better than it was received, and even the first reviews were positive. Then it became a cool thing not to like it. We went from hero to zero really fast. That was the tough moment. We didn't know what was happening. We knew that the game is great, yes we can improve it, yes we need to take time to do it, and we need to rebuild some stuff!"

I don't know about you, but we still remember the performance issues, the bugs galore, the empty streets of Night City and, really, much more...
