Nintendo files lawsuit against US government over tariffs

Nintendo has decided to take on quite a big challenge! The Japanese company has decided to sue the US government over tariffs it considers illegal.
More specifically, the complaint filed with the US International Trade Court targets the general tariff policy implemented by President Donald Trump in 2025. In February of that year, Donald Trump decided to impose tariffs that were ultimately deemed unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court. Importers were then able to request a refund.
This is what Nintendo is seeking in this complaint. The manufacturer wants to recover the customs duties paid, plus interest, as well as reimbursement of legal fees. The amount claimed has not been disclosed.
