This is the gameplay loop for Marathon, Bungie's next FPS

During its showcase last month, PlayStation lifted the veil on a sizable number of "games as a service" (or "GAAS" for short) that will be released on PS5 soon. Among these titles is Marathon, the new project from the creators of Destiny.

For the moment, we've only been able to see a simple CG trailer, which obviously doesn't represent the final product. Today, Insider Gaming tells us more about the concept of this multiplayer game.

Here's what the gameplay loop for Marathon should look like. Players will have to select a mission, buy or choose skills, equipment and weapons, then go in a server (up to three participants). During the game, you'll have to unearth loot, complete the mission objective and search for secrets hidden on the map. Our squad will then extract the loot and spend the experience points gained to upgrade various elements.

Finally, three maps are said to be in development, and a permadeath option (you know, the player loses all their money, artifacts and weapons upon death) is also on the agenda.
