Despite the failure of Redfall, Arkane Austin will not be closing its doors "for the time being".

Words have meaning, and those of Matt Booty, President of Xbox Game Studios, are not exactly reassuring. Interviewed again by the Axios website, the representative of Microsoft's gaming division spoke of Arkane Austin's future, following the disastrous launch of Redfall.

When asked if the studio would remain open despite this failure, Booty replied "That's the plan for now." It's hard to know whether this was a blunder or whether Xbox is planning to close Arkane Austin if the situation doesn't improve.

On a more reassuring note, we also learn that the developers are currently working on future updates and other content for Redfall. The game already received a first patch this week.
