Despite 30 FPS, the Starfield's resolution seems rather low on Xbox Series X

While the presentation of Starfield was on the whole very well received by gamers, there was a little controversy. Bethesda Game Studios explained that its newest RPG will only run at 30 FPS on the Xbox Series. This is a conscious choice on the part of the developers, who do not wish to sacrifice the visual fidelity of their title.
However, YouTube channel Digital Foundry has revealed that, even at 30 FPS, the definition achieved by Starfield on Xbox Series X is anything but high. In fact, it only reaches 1296p on certain sequences unveiled last Sunday. Of course, it's then upscaled to 4K, but this is still a far cry from native 4K.
So it's easy to understand why Bethesda didn't want to offer a 60 FPS mode, which would have forced the game to run at an even lower definition.
