Nexon appears to be working on a StarCraft shooter
, by Thibaut
While we wait for the announcements that could be made at BlizzCon 2026 in September, the StarCraft franchise is once again the subject of much speculation.
After being chosen by Blizzard in April 2025 to develop several games in the franchise, Nexon has apparently already started work. According to new information, a game is currently being developed by the team responsible for shooters at the South Korean firm.
It is reportedly in the prototyping phase and undergoing "internal verification by the company". At the helm of the project is Choi Jun-ho, a StarCraft map modder who is very well known in Korea. Whatever happens, this supposed shooter game is not expected to be released for a while.
