Wildlight Entertainment reportedly did not pay for Highguard to be the one more thing at The Game Awards.

We're not going to rehash the story of Highguard, Wildlight Entertainment's first game that got announced at the end of The Game Awards last December. This PvP shooter quickly came under fire from viewers and is set to be released on January 26.

Many internet users wondered whether the studio, made up of former Apex Legends and Titanfall developers, had paid to secure its place as the one more thing at the awards ceremony.

But according to Paul Tassi of Forbes, Wildlight did not pay to secure this advantageous spot. It appears that The Game Awards organization was the one to determine the order in which the trailers were shown.
