EA is preventing certain players from downloading Anthem

The countdown is on, and Anthem will say goodbye on January 12. The servers will be shut down, rendering BioWare's title unplayable.

While the dreaded (or perhaps not) date has yet to arrive, it seems that EA is already beginning to take steps to prepare for the game's demise. Many internet users who use the EA App on PC have been unpleasantly surprised to find that they can no longer download Anthem for one last game.

On X, players who purchased the game reported an error message stating that they did not own Anthem. However, the servers are still online. Electronic Arts has not commented on the matter.
