A new single-player survival horror Alien is reportedly in development

The Alien franchise appears to be preparing for a comeback with a relatively ambitious project. The website Insider Gaming has reported on a title currently in development at Eidos Montreal.

This Alien game is likely to be a single-player arcade survival horror game in which the player attempts to survive aboard a ruined space station. The goal will be to escape the xenomorphs and soldiers from a special unit. The source describes the game as “Shadow of Tomb Raider with xenomorphs.”

The project has reportedly been in development since at least 2020, but has had a rather complicated gestation period. During its existence, the game has passed through the hands of several studios before landing at Eidos Montreal.

In terms of gameplay, players will have to engage in combat, but also complete platforming and puzzle phases. It will be necessary to infiltrate and manage resources. The enemies' AI should also adapt to the tactics used by the player.

In this epic adventure, we will play as an engineer named Aubrey. He will be able to use a grappling hook and magnetic boots. Ryuzo is expected to be the antagonist, and Ripley 8 could also be involved.

Finally, although the date may change, the release of this Alien game is scheduled for 2028 on all major platforms. The budget is currently estimated at less than $75 million. Although still in its preliminary stages, development is reportedly progressing well.
