The Last of Us multiplayer isn’t showing up anytime soon

It was one of the biggest absentees from the PlayStation Showcase. After being long rumored to be there, The Last of Us multiplayer standalone game was a no-show at Sony’s conference. Not even a mention. And there may be a good reason for this…

The Californian studio put out a statement to assess the situation, explaining that even though they take pride in the quality of their new game, they aren’t ready to show anything regarding it. Which makes it likely for the game to not be released in the near future.

According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the delay is due to the fact that the team working on it has had its size drastically reduced by Sony.

On the other hand, Naughty Dog has stated that they will continue to work on “other games in development, including a brand new single-player experience”.
