Sony would like to see more studios using its Decima Engine

Designed by Guerrilla Games for the development of Killzone: Shadow Fall in 2013, the Decima Engine has become a highly regarded engine. It then proved its worth on the Horizon and Death Stranding franchises.

On Reddit, someone said they had the opportunity to chat with a former developer from SIE London Studio (closed in May 2024) at a Death Stranding event in London. Still under NDA, the former employee of the British firm reportedly revealed that they had already used the Decima Engine and that Sony was trying to get other studios to adopt it. The person in question did not specify whether this refers to third-party studios or those owned by the Japanese manufacturer.

In addition, this developer reportedly said he had tried Horizon Online. When the user asked him if he should be excited about playing it, his interlocutor simply replied "no".

Finally, he also mentioned The Last of Us Online, adding that the game was very entertaining before Bungie got involved. The project has since been canceled by Naughty Dog.

Keep in mind that all this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
