In the end, Battlefield 6 won't feature console crossplay

Earlier this week, Battlefield 6 combat designer Matthew Nickerson revealed that console players would be able to play together thanks to crossplay. Ultimately, this will not be technically feasible.

EA explained that PS5 and Xbox Series players will be grouped together as a priority. However, PC players will be able to join the game if there are any unoccupied slots left. When crossplay is disabled, PlayStation and Xbox users will no longer be mixed. Each ecosystem will be isolated.

Nickerson was mistaken when saying that by disabling crossplay, players from both consoles would still be able to play together.
