The phenomenon that is Hollow Knight: Silksong was apparently not well anticipated by major game distributors. When the title was officially released on September 4 at 3 p.m., many services came crashing down.
Quite simply, Steam stopped working, displaying an error message when users tried to access the store. What's more, Silksong simply disappeared from stores such as the eShop and PlayStation Store. Some Xbox Game Pass subscribers were able to download it, but others didn't get to start the application.
We can assume that the high traffic caused the servers of Valve, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox to crash. Things should quickly return to normal.
