There's a new PS5 model coming with a 825 GB SSD

Sony may be resorting to a clever ploy to avoid another price increase for the PS5 Slim without a disc drive. Sold for €399 in November 2020, this model then rose to €449, then €499 last April.
Since November 2023, the PS5 Slim Digital Edition has been based on the “Chassis D,” which saw the console opt for a smaller volume and, above all, an SSD with 1 TB of storage. Previously, the “fat” model had only 825 GB of free space.
Unfortunately, the Japanese manufacturer is expected to return to this storage capacity with the “Chassis E” (model CFI-2100). The PS5 Slim without a drive based on this reference would drop the 1TB SSD in favor of the 825GB model. For its part, the PS5 Slim Standard (i.e., the one with a drive) would retain the 1TB SSD.
Insider billbil-kun, who revealed this information via Dealabs, even specifies that the “825 GB” will be highlighted on the console's packaging. This PS5 model should go on sale in Europe on September 13, at a price of €499.
