AMD is reportedly working on an RX 9070 GRE with 16 GB for this fall
, by Quentin
According to some information relayed by Board Channels, AMD is reportedly preparing a new version of the RX 9070 GRE equipped with 16 GB of memory, compared to the current 12 GB. This version is expected to be launched between September and October, but the reliability of the source remains to be confirmed.
The increase in memory could be accompanied by a wider bus and increased bandwidth. However, there is no indication as to whether AMD will also change the number of cores, which would justify a higher price point.
This strategy would not be unprecedented: the RX 6750 GRE was offered in several variants, unlike the RX 7650 GRE.
It remains to be seen whether AMD will take the same approach this time around, and above all whether the card will be offered outside the Chinese market.
