GPD has confirmed the release of its new portable console, the Win 5, for October 17.
This model will be the first to feature an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 Strix Halo APU, all with 16 CPU cores and a Radeon 8060S GPU (40 CU RDNA 3.5), offering performance comparable to an RTX 4060 Laptop.
However, several design choices are likely to cause some stir: the console loses its physical keyboard and has no built-in battery, requiring a power supply or external battery.
The price could reach $1,400 for the 32GB version and $1,670 for the 64GB version.
A Ryzen AI MAX 385 version and a 128GB version are also planned.
