Shenmue 3 is getting an Enhanced edition on consoles and PC

After a somewhat mixed launch in 2019, Shenmue 3 is coming back with a re-release. The game will benefit from several visual and technical improvements for the occasion.

Shenmue 3 Enhanced will be released on PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo (Switch and/or Switch 2?) and PC at an unknown date. Owners of the PS4 or PC version will have access to an upgrade path.

This edition will feature improved graphics and performance, with sharper textures, shorter loading times, and smoother gameplay. Textures will be displayed in up to 4K to provide more detailed environments and characters. DLSS and FSR will be supported and crowd density will be higher.

In terms of gameplay, there will be optional adjustments to the stamina system, health restoration before combat, and financial barriers. All of this will allow for smoother progression. In addition, we will be able to skip cutscenes and conversations. The QTE window will also be expanded.

Finally, the menus and user experience will also be improved.
