A Far Cry TV series has been announced too early by mistake
, by Thibaut
Ubisoft appears to have made an announcement by mistake. In a post published on its website and then quickly deleted, the French publisher officially announced the production of a TV series based on the Far Cry franchise.
This adaptation will be produced by FX Studios. The description tells us more about the team that will be producing the series.
"Mac (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest, Welcome to Wrexham) and Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) are the co-creators of the Far Cry series. Hawley will also be the showrunner, while Mac will star in the series. The series will be produced by Mac, Hawley, and Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions; Michael Garcia for 26Keys Productions; Nick Frenkel for 3Arts Entertainment; and Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television."
Margaret Boyking, Head of Film and TV Content at Ubisoft Film & Television, commented on the announcement.
"This collaboration is a real treasure trove. Far Cry is a psychological whirlwind that doesn't shy away from tackling the darkest and most absurd aspects of humanity, which fits perfectly with FX's bold and fearless storytelling style."
