Windows Secure Boot will be mandatory in order to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Activision has announced a new requirement for PC gamers who want to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Windows Secure Boot must be activated in order to play.

Secure Boot is a security standard that allows a device to start up using only software approved by the manufacturer. In this case, Activision wants to use it to detect and remove users who are using a banned third-party device or cheating software. EA will also use it on Battlefield 6.

Note that Secure Boot will also be a thing starting August 7 on Black Ops 6 when Season 5 rolls out.

"TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot help protect your system against cheats and unauthorized access by verifying your PC’s integrity from startup to gameplay. Together, they provide a stronger foundation for in-game security and work alongside RICOCHET Anti-Cheat to keep matches fair and fun."

Activision has also provided some instructions to help activating this feature on PC.
