The James Pond creator goes off against Gamesware Europe's new title

Chris Sorrell, creator of James Pond, has strongly criticized Gameware Europe, the studio behind the new project James Pond: Rogue AI.
In an interview, he said he "hates almost everything they do", particularly their communication, which he describes as "lazy" and "AI-generated". Sorrell, who was already unwillingly involved in a failed Kickstarter campaign in 2013, now says he wants to distance himself from the license.
He acknowledges that the game's teaser shows an original idea, but doubts the final result, describing it as a "tasteless rehash" of his original work. The game is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2025 on PC, iOS, and Android.
