The PS6 may be cheaper than the PS5 Pro and its specs may have leaked

The YouTube channel Moore's Law Is Dead claims to have had access to new details on Sony's upcoming home console. Of course, all that follows should be taken with a grain of salt.
First, the insider says that Sony is indeed looking to create a PS6 that is stronger than the PS5 Pro but at a lower price point, so it should be below the very prohibitive $800 of the latest PS5.
As for the PS6 launch, Sony is reportedly aiming for a release between mid-2027 and early 2028. The PlayStation 6 is expected to come in home console (codenamed Orion) and handheld (codenamed Canis) formats.
Home console (Orion)
- Chiplet design, with mention of the possibility of using Navi 5 desktop chiplets.
- Backward compatibility with PS5 and PS4 generations. (No mention of PS3).
- Emphasis on cost constraints and maintaining lower power consumption than PS5.
- Manufacturing scheduled for mid-2027, with a likely release date in fall 2027 or early 2028.
- 160W TBP.
- 8 Zen 6 cores (or later).
- 40-48 RDNA 5 compute units at 3GHz+.
- 160 or 192-bit bus with GDDR7@32GT/s+-.
- Estimated rasterization performance approximately 3 times higher than the PS5 (Ray Tracing Uplift expected to be higher).
- Since Canis is expected to opt for a 3nm format, and Magnus (the next Xbox) is on 3nm, we believe this is also the case for the PS6.
Handheld (Canis)
- Monolithic 3nm chip.
- Backward compatibility with PS5 and PS4 generations. (No mention of PS3).
- Canis includes a MicroSD slot, an M.2 SSD slot, haptic feedback, two microphones, and a touchscreen.
- More specifically, a diagram indicates that the USB-C port has video output capabilities.
- Manufacturing is scheduled for mid-2027, with a likely release date in fall 2027 or early 2028.
- 15W TBP.
- 4 x Zen 6c Cores.
- 12-20 RDNA 5 compute units at 1.6-2 GHz.
- 128-bit bus with LPDDR5X-7500+.
- Rasterization performance is estimated to be approximately 0.5 times higher than that of the PS5 (ray tracing should be higher than that).
- Canis is expected to outperform the XBOX Ally X in terms of performance.
