The development of GTA VI is "well underway" according to Take-Two

During the meeting to discuss their results for the previous fiscal year, Take-Two naturally mentioned the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series. A small statement from CEO Strauss Zelnick has been widely discussed on social media.
First and foremost, Zelnick stated that GTA VI is in an active development phase and that it is at a relatively advanced stage. This is great news for what is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated games of all time.
As for the release period of the sixth installment, Take-Two remained somewhat vague. However, the publisher is expecting an exceptional fiscal year 2025 (from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025). During this period, the company aims to achieve $8 billion in net revenue. This ambitious goal is motivated by several major releases that are expected to set "new standards" within the gaming industry.
To accomplish such a feat, Take-Two will need to bring out their heavy artillery. We know that a new Bioshock and Mafia 4 are also in development. However, it will likely be with GTA VI that the company reaches new heights. Based on these objectives, one can assume that the title from Rockstar Games will arrive no later than March 2025. Of course, nothing has been confirmed, and we will have to wait for clear communication from the publisher.
