Death Stranding 2 let's you bypass UK age verification on the Internet
, by Thibaut
On July 25, the UK officially introduced its Online Safety Act, which aims to restrict access to certain sites through a system of age verification, all in name to better protect children from harmful content.
The new law affects several video game sites across the Channel, and some Internet users have already found a clever way around it. In fact, to prove their identity in order to access a site, users can resort to facial recognition. And it turns out that an unexpected tool can be used to cheat.
On X, a game developer named Dany Sterkhov discovered that Death Stranding 2's photo mode can bypass security by capturing a photo of Sam Bridges before using his face to access the desired site.
For example, a simple photo of the hero of Death Stranding 2 is enough to get onto Discord. We can assume that such a feat is made possible by the realism of the characters' faces in Kojima Productions' latest title.
