The Switch version of Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will not have an upgrade path for the Switch 2

When it releases on October 30 for all platforms, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will sadly not feature an upgrade patch on Nintendo's consoles.

Buying the Switch version doesn't grant access to the Switch 2 one, either paid or free. Square Enix has warned that players must "buy your copy for the system you wish to play on".

Be it in the near or distant future, the Japanese publisher has no plans to offer an upgrade at all.
