The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom boasts the best UK launch of the year

Nintendo has hit the big time with its latest Switch exclusive. Indeed, the new Zelda has received rave reviews and now looks set to be a worldwide commercial success.
The first data we've learned comes from the UK. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has had the best start of 2023. It outsold Hogwarts Legacy by 54%. During its entire launch period, the game also outsold several previous releases such as A Link: Between Worlds, Skyward Sword and Wind Waker. It is already the eighth best-selling Zelda ever in the UK.
In addition, the launch of Tears of the Kingdom is 173% higher than Breath of the Wild. We are talking about more than 200,000 sales. An outstanding performance as the UK is one of Nintendo's worst-performing significant markets.
