Since his appointment as Xbox CEO in 2014, Phil Spencer has achieved a great deal for the brand. Before donning his businessman's hat, the main man involved always wanted to be part of the gaming community and give a voice to creators.

At least, this was the case in the early years of his presidency. When he was appointed head of the Microsoft Gaming division, and after securing the buyout of Activision Blizzard, Spencer's image was tarnished. Layoffs, studio closures, canceled projects... he gradually drifted away from his role as the "good boss" who always listens to his teams. You just have to see the new wave of layoffs this week at Xbox.

Now, insider TheGhostofHope reports that the same Phil Spencer will be retiring after the release of the next generation of consoles. His successor will be Sarah Bond, the current President of Xbox. Teams are already working to ensure a smooth succession. We do not yet know who will replace Bond in her current position.
