Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds could be a game key card on Switch 2

With the Switch 2, Nintendo has introduced the game key card format for physical editions. These feature only a license key, and you have to download the entire title.

This is a much-criticized format, but one that lets devs save on the production costs of physical media on Switch 2. That's why many publishers have given in to this trend.

SEGA could be one of them, as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, due for release on September 25, is listed as a key game card by the Japanese firm's customer service department. Still, it's important to remain cautious until we have a truly official announcement on the matter.
