The European Union is expected to approve Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard
, by Thibaut
After the major setback of the United Kingdom's decision to block the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft is now awaiting responses from several other territories. While the United States has not yet made its verdict, the European Union is expected to announce its decision next week.
According to Reuters, the EU's antitrust regulators will speak out as early as May 15, 2023. They are also expected to give their green light to the acquisition. Unless there is a huge turnaround, the European Commission will therefore side with Microsoft in order to validate this merger worth $69 billion.
