AMD has confirmed the Ryzen 5 9600X3D, a 6-core Zen 5 processor with 3D V-Cache
, by Quentin
The Ryzen 5 9600X3D, successor to the 7600X3D, has been indirectly confirmed by AMD via a support page linked to its Radeon AI PRO R9700 professional graphics card. The processor appears there alongside the 9950X3D, 9900X3D and 9800X3D models. This 6-core model should logically offer lower performance than the 8- or 16-core versions.
Like the 7600X3D, the 9600X3D would use an 8-core chiplet with two cores disabled. It would retain the 64 MB of second-generation 3D V-Cache and integrate an iGPU, unlike the Ryzen 7 9700F.
Availability has yet to be announced, but early leaks date back to December 2024. This model seems to have been planned from the outset.
