Sony goes for a measured approach to the release of its exclusives on other platforms

Sony has been extremely talkative this weekend. The manufacturer reviewed its various strategies, released figures and discussed the future of the PlayStation ecosystem.
On the subject of games, Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, gave details of how the company plans to distribute its exclusives. For the time being, Sony wants to show restraint, unlike Microsoft, which is aiming for bringing its games to every existing platform.
"It's important to understand that we're really thinking about taking our franchises beyond consoles to new audiences, and we're taking a very measured and deliberate approach to that."
"Particularly when it comes to single-player games, our flagship titles, which is PlayStation's point of differentiation. They're real showcases for the performance and quality of our machines..."
"We're paying close attention to how and when we bring these titles to other platforms."
Hulst also took time to talk about the critical success of Astro Bot. He says that the game “has been a resounding success, garnering praise from players and critics alike, and winning numerous awards". The ambition is to develop the franchise further, with the aim of making it a mainstay in the PlayStation catalog.
