There are more gamers on PS5 than PS4 now
, by Thibaut
Back in May 2024, Sony stated in one of its reports that 97 million monthly active users thrived on its platforms. What's more, the ratio was 50/50 on PS4 and PS5, for around 49 million players on each console.
A year later, the Japanese manufacturer has updated its figures. There are now 124 million active users every month. While we don't have clear data on the ratio, we can see from the graph that, for the first time ever, PS5 players now outnumber those on PS4.
Sony was keen to point out that "the PlayStation 4 remains a major access point for existing gamers to discover our content and services, and we remain committed to serving them".
