Resident Evil Requiem will revolve around the franchise's lore

In the ninth entry in the Resident Evil franchise, we'll be playing the role of Grace Ashcroft, a brand-new character. She is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a journalist featured in 2004's Resident Evil Outbreak.

Koushi Nakanishi, the game's director, explained his intentions in a video for the Ambassador program. He explained that, just like the seventh episode, Resident Evil Requiem will feature a new hero "while remaining deeply rooted in the existing universe" of the license.

That's why we'll be exploring places that are well known to fans, and probably playing the roles of famous characters. Leon S. Kennedy is said to be one of the playable protagonists.
