EA wants to focus on fewer franchises
, by Thibaut
Following the cancellation of the Black Panther game and the closure of Cliffhanger Games, Electronic Arts has decided to review its strategy. The publisher now wishes to concentrate its efforts on a handful of licenses.
In a statement to IGN, EA Entertainment president Laura Miele announced that the company wishes to focus on “fewer franchises", such as Battlefield, The Sims**, Skate** and Apex Legends** . Motive's adaptation of Iron Man, BioWare's Mass Effect and Respawn's Star Wars Jedi would still get from the publisher's support.
EA Sports games are not affected by this strategic shift, as several titles such as College Football 26, Madden NFL 26, EA Sports FC 26, NHL 26 and UFC 6 are in development.
