EA cancels the Black Panther game and closes Cliffhanger Games

It's another blow from Electronic Arts. After laying off 400 people, the American giant is making even further cuts.

Announced back on July 2023, the publisher's Black Panther game has finally been cancelled. EA also closes Cliffhanger Games. Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment, told IGN that the decision is intended “to sharpen our focus and focus our creative energy on the most significant growth opportunities".

Black Panther should have been a third-person game with an advanced combat system based on African martial arts. Its open structure would have allowed the player to freely explore certain cities or even savannas.
