Gigabyte has shown the AI TOP ATOM, a supercomputer based on NVIDIA's DGX Spark

At the latest Computex, Gigabyte presented its own version of NVIDIA's DGX Spark supercomputer, dubbed AI TOP ATOM. Compact yet powerful, this system is said to be capable of delivering up to 1,000 TOPS in AI computing, which is 20 to 50 times more than conventional NPU engines.

The heart of the machine is based on the GB10 Grace Blackwell chip, an ARM superchip integrating NVIDIA's Blackwell GPU with 5th-generation Tensor cores and FP4 support. It uses the NVLink-C2C interconnect, claimed to offer five times the bandwidth of PCIe 5.0, with shared memory between CPU and GPU.

The device also incorporates Micron LPDDR5X. The model on display still appears to be a prototype, with the chip labelled "engineering sample".

Gigabyte claims a processing capacity of 70 billion parameters, increased to 405 billion if two units are combined via ConnectX.

In terms of connectivity, the AI TOP ATOM offers HDMI, USB-C and a ConnectX-T port. While its appearance is pretty sober, its performance is the perfect demonstration of the rapid evolution of AI hardware.
