Ukraine gives the green light to Microsoft for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard
, by Thibaut
It has been a week full of twists and turns in the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard merger saga. The UK's CMA has chosen to oppose the acquisition due to concerns of a monopoly by the American multinational on the cloud gaming market. Of course, the case will not end there as the tech giant has decided to appeal.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has voiced its support for the acquisition. The country's antimonopoly committee has given a favorable opinion, stating that the operation will not lead to a decrease in competition. Other territories such as Japan, South Africa, Chile, Serbia, and Brazil have also approved the merger. The European Union will make a decision on May 22nd.
