For CD Projekt RED, putting the whole Switch 2 game directly on the cartridge is "the right thing to do"

Many third-party publishers will be going for the famous game key cards on Nintendo Switch 2. The aim of this process is to include a simple license key within the cartridge that lets you download the whole game. This means that almost no data is stored on the physical medium.
Some studios, however, have decided to go against this trend. Such is the case of CD Projekt RED, which has decided to place the entirety of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on the 64 GB card. According to Jan Rosner, the Polish studio's vice-president of business development, this was "the right thing to do".
According to him, launching The Witcher 3 on the first Switch would not have been possible, for example, if the game had not been stored directly on the cartridge. The Switch's insufficient internal storage was to blame. Players were "quite receptive" to this method. From the outset, CD Projekt RED wanted to offer a no-download experience for Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2.
