In the end, there's no Chrono Trigger remake

An extract of Yuji Horii's interview obtained by Gematsu finally contradicts this rumor. Indeed, Horii never mentioned a possible remake of Chrono Trigger. It would appear that the mistake was made by the translator, who misinterpreted Horii's words.

Last March, Chrono Trigger celebrated its 30th anniversary. The cult RPG published by Square Enix has sold over 5 million copies since its release, and should soon be getting a new version.

During a panel at Comiccon in Naples, Yuji Horii, the title's scriptwriter, mistakenly confirmed the existence of a remake of Chrono Trigger. Aware of his error, Horii was quick to add "you haven't heard anything" dedicated to the audience, but the damage had already been done...

All we can do now is wait for Square Enix to confirm this.
