The Switch 2's GameCube controller will be usable on other games, too
, by Thibaut
There was some confusion about the GameCube controller for the Switch 2. Indeed, a previous report stated that the peripheral wouldn't work outside the games included in the emulator.
In the end, Nintendo has confirmed that the controller is compatible with all other Switch 2 titles. However, the manufacturer mentions the fact that there may be some "problems", so it's best to use it only for GameCube games.
Added to this is the fact that the famous controller will not be compatible with the first Switch. Wired GameCube controllers, on the other hand, work perfectly on Switch 1 thanks to an adapter. Said adapter is also compatible with Switch 2.
