The new GameCube controller will not work with Switch 2 games
, by Thibaut
When it launches on June 5, the Switch 2 will feature a GameCube emulator reserved for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. The Japanese company will also release a controller not unlike the one from its home console om 2001.
Sold at €69.99 exclusively on My Nintendo Store and only to those who have pre-ordered the Switch 2, the peripheral will feature a significant restriction. We've learned that the controller will only work with games from the Nintendo GameCube - Nintendo Classics catalog. It will not be possible to use it with Switch 2 games.
Finally, the accessory will feature the famous C button for accessing GameChat, and can be used wirelessly.
