Marathon will retail at €40 and could have an open beta in August

Although the Marathon a week ago has far from convinced everyone, Bungie's title has managed to attract the attention of lots of gamers. So much so, that many people have signed up for the alpha, which runs from April 23 to May 4.

According to Paul Tassi of Forbes, the game will have an open beta in August. At that point, players should be able to pre-order the game. Tassi reiterates that the price of Marathon will be based on that of Helldivers 2, so it will probably cost around €40. In his opinion, it's already too late for Sony to make the jump to a free-to-play model.

As a reminder, Marathon will be released on September 23, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
