Microsoft plans to expand Xbox Play Anywhere

Since its inception, Xbox Play Anywhere has let users purchase a compatible Xbox game and then enjoy it across the brand's entire ecosystem. For example, buying a Halo on Xbox Series nets you the PC version at no extra cost.

Recently, the U.S. company extended this functionality to several titles on Battle.net. And if we are to believe Agnes Kim, head of strategic markets for Xbox platforms, Xbox Play Anywhere has a bright future in store.

"We believe that by continuing to develop Play Anywhere, we'll be able to expand the ecosystem and reach more gamers. But we won't impose this strategy on developers; it's more of a flexible option."

With this and Game Pass, Microsoft hopes to conquer the Asian market and other territories.
