NVIDIA makes PhysX and Flow fully open source
, by Quentin
NVIDIA has uploaded the complete source code of its PhysX library to GitHub, this time including files related to GPU computation. The SDK is now fully licensed under BSD-3.
PhysX uses over 500 CUDA kernels to handle rigid body dynamics, fluid simulation and deformable objects. NVIDIA hopes this release will be useful for learning and development purposes.
The company is also making its Flow library, dedicated to real-time fluid simulation, open source.
This announcement comes shortly after the discovery of compatibility problems between certain PhysX games and RTX 50 graphics cards, due to the lack of 32-bit support on this generation.
