A mysterious Xbox exclusive could require at least 10 years of development

AAA games (i.e. those with a very large budget) require increasingly long development times, a phenomenon that affects absolutely all publishers and that should be highlighted by an upcoming exclusivity published by Microsoft.
In fact, in a document spotted by Stephen Totilo, and filed as part of a legal challenge regarding the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft mentions the production of a sequel to a well-known franchise (but whose name is not disclosed). This mysterious title could, according to an executive of the American company, “take a decade to develop.”
It is impossible to know the identity of a game that would require such a lengthy development time at this point. However, some upcoming Xbox exclusives like The Elder Scrolls 6, which was announced in 2018, or Perfect Dark, which are not expected to be released for several years, come to mind.
