Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won't have a mini-map

Everything looks to be according to plan for the release of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for consoles and PC this April 24. The RPG went gold recently, and should come out on schedule.

During last week's GDC, Sandfall Interactive Producer and Director of Operations spoke out on a very specific subject: the presence of a mini-map to guide the player. The French studio has opted not to include such a feature in order to preserve the exploration aspect of the game.

"There won't be mini maps in the levels. When there's a mini map, you can end up relying on it. And we want players to discover the world as the expedition does it. They don't have a map because every previous expedition failed. So yes, sometimes it can be difficult to find their way."

"What we added on the world map that wasn't in the preview demo is just a compass, so you can find north easily and get your direction more easily."
