The God of War side-story with Kratos isn't Santa Monica Studio's next big game

This weekend, a rumor surrounding the God of War license set social networks ablaze. A side story with Kratos in Greece is said to be in the works and could even be released this year.

Insider Jeff Grubb, who dropped the bomb, has provided a little more context in a podcast. In particular, he reiterated that this game is not Santa Monica Studio's next big title. This game is supposedly shorter and less ambitious than previous entries, and it could have been developed in a studio from outside PlayStation.

For Grubb, the launch will take place in 2025. An announcement was presumably planned for the saga's 20th anniversary, but it ended up being delayed.
